PE Development Leader - The Redstart Primary School (2 roles)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint 2 PE Development Leaders to join our professional and dedicated team. The role is to further improve the range of PE opportunities provided in our large primary school as well as providing bespoke small group or 1:1 sessions for our most vulnerable learners.

Redstart is a large, busy primary school with a diverse range of students. There will be 2 distinct elements to this role:

  • Increasing the range of PE activities offered to all students
  • Providing short focused sessions with our most vulnerable learners 

Highlighting the link between strong physical health and strong mental health will be a key aspect of the role. The exact timetable of the role may vary depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidates but below is an example of how the role might fit.

Role 1 - 8.00am - 1.30pm (5 hours with a half hour break)
8.00 - 8.30      Activity session at breakfast club
8.30 - 8.45      Wake and shake session in the playground - whole school
9.00 - 10.30    15/ 20 minutes physical activity with targeted pupils
10.30 - 11.00   Break
11.00 - 12.00   2 x yoga type sessions - targeted groups of students
12.00 - 1.30    Working with classes to offer range of physical activities at lunchtime

Role 2 - 12.00 til 5.30pm (5 hours with a half hour break)
12.00 - 1.30   Working with classes to offer range of physical activities at lunchtime
1.30 - 3.00     Small group team building physical activities 
3.00 - 3.30     Break
3.30 - 4.30     After school clubs - different sport each day
4.30 - 5.30     Activity sessions for tea club

The 2 roles will be at the same pay grade and level of responsibility and there will be overlap within the hours where the successful individuals will work together.
